Our friends from Brooklyn NY and Montreal Canada Gives

Collection of donations from Brooklyn New York and Montreal Canada were distributed to recipients living in a garbage mountain in Western Samar. 100 families live in and around this shanty town built around the garbage dump. Adults and children scavenge through the trash daily for treasures such as plastic, glass, cardboard and salvageable scraps to be sold for more money than the earnings of an average citizen in this region. Most children help their parents hunt and collect these treasures therefore most of them do not go to school.
